The Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit to the dentist occur by 12 months of age.
Parents play a large part in preparing your child for the first visit, before the first visit, please discuss with your child the positive aspects of going to the dentist.
Please avoid using words like “the dentist will not hurt” or “needle, shot, pull”, or any other words suggesting unpleasantness.
At your child’s first dental visit, we will:

Take necessary radiographs (x-rays)
Perform a dental prophy (cleaning) and oral hygiene instructions for you
and your child
